Job Description

As a member of the Information Services Department, the Power Platform Developer will help citizen developers to develop and support applications as well as design, build and deploy business wide low code solutions. Under the direction of the Web Development Manager, the goal of the Power Platform Developer is to deliver services and solutions for customers using the suite of Microsoft’s Power Platform, custom development, and data integrations on the platform. The Developer will be responsible for all aspects of implementing solutions including development, testing, deployment and process documentation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Configure and create flexible Power Platform solutions using out-of-the-box features.

  • Develop and implement new customizations utilizing appropriate code base to seamlessly extend the out-of-the-box functionality of the Power Platform.

  • Create Power BI reports using DAX or M.

  • Train users on the use of Power Platform.

  • Integrate solutions with various internal/external data sources (SQL, APIs, Web Services).

  • Design and build advanced and effective business process automation applications using Power Automate or approved automation software.

  • Work closely with other Developers and Business Analysts to build requirements for custom solutions and choose the appropriate approach, utilizing Agile methodologies and iterative processes to meet internal (attorney) and external (client) needs.

  • Maintain applications after implementation, including user support and upgrades.

  • Adherence to industry best practices and standards.

  • Prepare and update system and user documentation.

  • Estimate assignments and projects based on scope and work effort. Provide timelines for project completion and regularly update team on progress.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist with training content editors regarding how to manage data on pages and lists. Create documentation of procedures/workflows.

  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Manager and/or Director.

QUALIFICATIONS (EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES): 

Education:     

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems required. Equivalent work experience and certifications may be considered in lieu of degree.   

Experience:

  • Three to seven years of experience building solutions for the Power Platform. Legal industry, professional services, or corporate experience preferred but not required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of business process automation applications and development/maintenance of custom Workflow/Forms highly preferred.

  • Experience working with modern client-side development frameworks and JavaScript libraries (jQueryUI, KendoUI, Bootstrap, React.js) highly preferred.

  • Experience with Data Visualization, Business Intelligence tools inside of Power BI.

  • Working knowledge of MS SQL Server Development (TSQL, ETL, SSRS) preferred.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong technical leadership and attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a passion for delivering software solutions that solve business problems.

  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a cross-functional team. Willingness to proactively learn and enhance skill sets.

Job Description

As a member of the Information Services Department, the Senior Enterprise Applications Engineer is responsible for the daily monitoring, support and maintenance of existing enterprise-wide applications, including document management, ethical walls, timekeeping, accounting and billing, information and compliance, litigation support applications and other related systems. Leads projects related to updating or installing new enterprise-wide applications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Monitor the health of enterprise-wide applications, including error logs, server performance, and memory and processor usage.

  • Resolve and respond to Help Desk tickets related to enterprise-wide applications, plus all other applications as needed; note trends; perform troubleshooting; perform problem management, including escalating to other teams and to vendors as needed.

  • Keep current on patches and releases related to enterprise-wide applications; review release notes; track resolutions to existing software problems; recommend updates to install.

  • Lead the testing of new software or new versions of software. Create and maintain test environments for each of the enterprise-wide applications, including server specifications and software installations, integrations and customizations. Create and maintain testing scripts for all enterprise-wide applications; manage testing teams and procedures and analyze test results.

  • Function as the Project Lead for new enterprise-wide applications or updates to existing applications; serve as a project member on projects to which you are assigned that are run by another team member or manager. Create project plans and monitor deadlines and project team performance.

  • Create and maintain production environments for enterprise-wide applications, including server and desktop specifications, client software packaging, server software installations, integrations and customizations; submit Change Management forms for approval per IS procedure; schedule work with vendors; perform installations or upgrades, final testing and close monitoring after installation or upgrade.

  • Interface with vendors on a regular basis regarding problems, bug fixes and new software versions.

  • Develop & promote training initiatives relating, but not limited, to the document management systems and matter centricity.

  • Identify workflow process inefficiencies and implement changes to improve the productivity, efficiency, and/or cost-effectiveness of products or services.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain a high level of knowledge in all enterprise-wide applications via release notes, documentation, vendor dialogue and training classes.

  • Function as a back-up for all other applications that may be primarily supported and maintained by others on the Applications team.

  • Perform desktop applications packaging, testing and deployment via SCCM.

  • Assist, teach and mentor Applications Analysts and Engineers on the team.
